 Facilities Management
 
  Health and Safety…….Ensures store is operated   within 
  all health and safety guidelines and policy directives, 
  including WHMIS.

  Store Power Equipment……Maintain store and power 
  equipment to high standards through a program of 
  preventive maintenance while ensuring trades and 
  service are obtained via accepted competitive tendering 
  practices.

  Store cleanliness & maintenance……Establishes and  
  maintains a high standard of overall store cleanliness


  Security

  Loss Prevention Policy and Procedures......Ensures 
  security of inventory, cash and assets through 
  application of loss prevention policies, procedures and 
  common sense.  Verifies all records of accuracy.

  Store Security Systems…….. Monitors and maintains 
  store security systems.


  Inventory Management

  Ordering………Ensures inventory levels consistent with 
  customer demand.

  Receiving/Storage……. Ensures integrity of shipment to 
  invoices. Ensures appropriate storage and handling of 
  the product.

  Monitoring…….. Ensures ongoing monitoring of 
  inventory levels vs. requirements and takes appropriate 
  remedial action.


 
Merchandising

  Corporate Merchandising Directives……. Manages    
  appropriate and timely execution of corporate 
  merchandising directives and planograms.

  Shelf Management Related Products………Ensures 
  concept is followed and product displays and layouts
  are in appropriate locations to maximize profitability.

  Business Relationships……….Maintain a professional 
  business relationship with reps.

  Listing / delisting……… Monitors listing/delisting of 
  products in line with corporate directives while 
  maintaining a sensitivity to local demands.


  Human Resources Management

  Hiring……..Identifies staffing requirements. 
  Directs/participates in the selection process.

  Training……Identifies training needs and provides first 
  hand effective T&D opportunities for all staff members. 
  Maintains an awareness of all relevant T&D initiatives.

  Staff Relations………..Establishes, maintains and 
  promotes a harmonious and productive work 
  environment.

  Management of Staff…….Ensures motivation of staff 
  through positive two-way communication, effective 
  delegation and leadership.

  Performance Appraisals………Improves and maintains 
  high levels of individual performance by establishing and 
  communicating job expectations and providing ongoing 
  verbal and written assessment.

  H.R. Administration……….Maintains an understanding 
  and ensures application of H.R. policies, procedures
  and relevant legislation at store level.


 
Business Management

  Forecasting Sales………Maintains awareness of sales 
  history, local events, marketing opportunities to 
  accurately forecast sales.

  Monitoring Income Statements……Analyzes, interprets 
  and applies information and trends from store P&L 
  statements.

  Budgeting……….Determines, approves and monitors 
  store budget in accordance with corporate directives
  and standards. Schedules staff to ensure store maintains
  the approved (budget) ratio between sales and labour
  hours while meeting customer service requirements.

  Reporting……Monitors and analyzes all store reporting 
  functions and records in a timely and accurate manner.

  Duties…….Ensures duties are carried out in an efficient 
  and cost effective manner.


 
Social Responsibility

  Corporate Programs……..Manages store within
  corporate social responsibility practices such as
  SMAART, Liquor Control & License Acts. Responsible for
  employee knowing and implementing corporate
  programs.

  Environmental Programs………Manages store in an 
  environmentally responsible manner; 3 R’s: reduce, 
  reuse and recycle. Supports local and corporate 
  environment programs.

  Public Image………Is visible to the public and presents 
  positive image to community.

  Product Quality………Ensures issues such as QC, CC
  are addressed immediately.

  Training Programs……Ensures training programs are 
  available and conducted.


 
Customer Service

  Customer Queries/Complaints……..Ensures employees 
  serve customer promptly, politely, using tact and good     
  judgment in handling c.c. and queries. Demonstrates
  leadership in this area. Monitors the handling of c.c. and
  inquiries by staff.


  Staff……. Ensures staff conduct is proper (i.e., attire).
  Ensures sufficient staff available to meet all customer
  needs.

  Standards of Excellence…….Ensures staff adherence to
  all standards.

  Additional Services……Provides and ensures that the
  store staff are available to provide additional services,
  such as carryouts.

  Customer Service Excellence…….Ensures total program
  delivery.

  Product Knowledge…… Supports and encourages all
  employees to learn as much as possible about our
  products.
